What started as an ordinary afternoon for a family in Lexington, Kentucky, turned into an unforgettable (and particularly sweet) event for Holly LaFavers. She was startled to find 22 boxes brimming with Dum-Dum lollipops on her doorstep. The mastermind behind this sugary surprise was her 8-year-old son, Liam, who had used his mother's phone to place a massive order on Amazon, according to Telemundo.

"I nearly fainted when I saw the total," recounted LaFavers, upon discovering that the order cost a staggering $4,000 and included 70,000 lollipops. Liam had innocently planned to host a carnival at home, using the lollipops as prizes for his friends. Despite the innocent nature of his intentions, the financial impact was immediate.

LaFavers attempted to cancel the order, but Amazon had already dispatched the initial 22 boxes. She soon realized that an additional eight boxes were en route. Acting swiftly, she went to the post office and managed to return those boxes to the sender.

After a day filled with phone calls to her bank and numerous communications, LaFavers shared on social media that Amazon agreed to refund the entire amount. "After speaking with some news outlets and working with the bank, Amazon reached out and assured me that they would issue a refund," she reported.

Amidst laughter and relief, the mother stated that she's now updating her phone settings to prevent any future "surprises" of this nature. The incident, while humorous in hindsight, quickly went viral on social media and reignited the conversation about parental controls on mobile devices.

Meanwhile, Liam has become the accidental hero among candy lovers and the star of a tale his family will never forget.
