Mother Accompanies Police to Scene Where Her Son Was Assaulted for His Motorcycle

A young motorcyclist fell victim to a violent robbery in Las Tunas province after being hired for a trip that ended with him being ambushed in a secluded area by someone intending to steal his vehicle. The incident initially came to light through a Facebook post by Omar Sayut, who shared a video capturing the reaction of the victim's mother, who arrived at the location accompanied by police officers.

According to accounts gathered by internet user Irma Broek, the young man was deceitfully led to a remote and hard-to-reach rural area, where at least two masked assailants ambushed him. The supposed passenger struck him with his own helmet and later hurled a rock at his head, causing an injury whose severity remains officially unconfirmed.

During the attack, the victim managed to flee on foot, with one of the attackers chasing him wielding a knife. Despite the violence of the situation, the young man successfully reached safety, although he lost his motorcycle in the ordeal.

The video features the victim's mother visibly distressed and in tears as she retraces the path of the attack alongside two police patrols. "This is terrible, terrible," she repeats, describing how her son was injured by a thrown stone.

The robbery, which narrowly avoided becoming a tragedy, has sparked outrage on social media and among local residents. The motorcyclist is involved in passenger transport, a widespread practice on the island due to the chronic shortage of public transportation options. As of now, authorities have not issued an official statement, nor have any arrests been reported in connection with the incident. However, the young man's family is demanding a thorough investigation and the recovery of the stolen motorcycle, which serves as his primary means of livelihood.
