A motorcyclist riding a sidecar motorcycle sustained injuries after being struck by a moving truck this past Saturday in Santiago de Cuba. "A traffic accident occurred just moments ago on Escario Street, between 1st and 2nd, in the heart of Santiago de Cuba. A state-owned truck, license plate B142874, carrying household goods collided with a sidecar motorcycle, injuring its driver," reported independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada on Facebook.

Mayeta Labrada noted that the injured motorcyclist was rushed to a local hospital, though details about the individual's identity and the extent of their injuries remain undisclosed. The journalist also appealed for information from witnesses or anyone familiar with those involved in the incident.

Commenters on Mayeta's post mentioned that this intersection is a notorious "hotspot" for accidents, allegedly due to poor road signage. In a related incident, a young woman, only 20 years old, lost her life in a traffic accident last Thursday at the intersection of 100th Street and the Calabazar Bridge in Boyeros, Havana. That tragedy involved a motorcycle and a truck.

Additionally, last Monday, another traffic accident at the entrance of Havana, near the Monumental Avenue bridge, left a driver seriously injured.
