A shooting near Miami's Little Havana neighborhood has left a teenager injured, according to local law enforcement. Reports from the police, obtained by NBC 6, indicate that the incident took place on Friday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., close to the 900 block of Northwest 2nd Street, near Henderson Park.

Law enforcement officials, responding to a call reporting the shooting, discovered a 17-year-old male at the scene who had been shot. The teenager, whose identity remains undisclosed, sustained a gunshot wound to the bicep but was conscious when transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Following the incident, three individuals were apprehended in the vicinity, and the police are currently conducting an investigation. The Cuban community in Miami is increasingly alarmed by the surge in violence, which is underscored by recent incidents. The area has been experiencing a series of shootings, domestic violence cases, and robberies.

In a separate event on Thursday, a Cuban man reportedly attacked a security guard with the handle of a machete at Sedano's supermarket located in Little Havana. The assault occurred when the suspect was confronted for allegedly attempting to steal items. The security guard suffered a head injury but is expected to recover.

The attacker was identified as Yuris Jiménez Linares, a 38-year-old Cuban national. Miami Police arrested him on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery. He attempted to flee the scene but was detained by eyewitnesses until authorities arrived.

Earlier in the week, an 18-year-old male kidnapped another individual in the Brickell area of Miami, threatening him with a firearm and demanding a ransom of $35,000. The victim was eventually abandoned in an unknown location and had to walk home. The suspect was later apprehended and is facing serious charges, including armed kidnapping, armed robbery, and extortion.

Miami police identified Andy Josué Torres García through surveillance footage from the Sexyyy Lady Cabaret nightclub, where he was seen with the victim. The video evidence helped trace a car registered to his mother, leading to his arrest at a gas station.
