Rey El Mago Stands Up for La Diosa Amid Criticism: "We Include Vulgarity Out of Respect for Audience Demand"

Recently, La Diosa has faced a wave of criticism over the lyrics of her latest song, "La Conchinchina," which many on social media have labeled as vulgar. Among her critics was Evelyn, the aunt of Damián Valdez-Galloso—the man who killed El Taiger—who called her "chusma" and compared her to La Cintumbares, claiming there is no difference between the two.

Rey El Mago, La Diosa's husband, took to Instagram to defend the artist, offering a calm and thoughtful perspective on their approach to music. "It's her opinion, and like her, many people have their own opinions. Let me tell you something: music was created for positive things, but it was also invented for negative things. It serves to send both positive and negative messages. Music is a medium of communication, a form of expression... it encompasses everything that exists in the universe. Just as there is an audience with refined tastes, there is also an audience that enjoys this type of song," the Cuban producer reflected.

Rey emphasized that a song and its lyrics do not define them as individuals, nor is it their guiding style; it is simply a matter of catering to the preferences of a particular audience. "Is it vulgar? Yes, sometimes we create things that aren't vulgar, and they aren't as well-received, but that doesn't mean that is the pattern to follow or the ultimate goal (...) Creating one or two vulgar songs doesn't define anyone. The world is full of vulgar things, and I don't see people focusing solely on artists who make vulgar music (...) We include the vulgar parts out of respect for the audience that requests it," Rey asserted.

The producer also revealed that he has completed the music for La Diosa's upcoming album, a ten-song production titled "Joyas," which pays homage to Latin music and the Prodigious Decade.
