In recent days, Cuban authorities have successfully dismantled multiple distribution points for the drug commonly referred to as "chemical" or "kímiko" through police operations conducted in the municipalities of La Lisa, Bauta, and Guanabacoa, according to reports from state-aligned sources on social media.

One of the most significant operations took place in the neighborhood known as La Fabela, located at the border between La Lisa and Bauta, where the National Police conducted a surprise raid with community support. During this operation, a person alleged to be selling psychoactive substances in both residential areas and higher education institutions was apprehended.

According to posts shared by pro-government users, the suspect was found with ready-for-sale doses and an unspecified amount of cash. In a separate raid in the El Roble neighborhood of Guanabacoa, a young man identified as Dayron was detained, possessing 69 packages of "chemical."

This synthetic drug has become increasingly popular in Cuba's underground markets due to its low cost and high addictive potential. Additionally, in the Habana Nueva area of Guanabacoa, authorities arrested another suspected dealer, Marlon, who had 28 packages of the same substance.

Posts shared by profiles such as Javier Gutiérrez on Facebook emphasize a "zero tolerance" stance towards drugs and highlight that the police acted swiftly, thanks to citizen cooperation.

The rising presence of synthetic drugs in Havana's neighborhoods has alarmed both residents and authorities. As a result, public campaigns against the consumption and trafficking of these substances have been intensified, particularly focusing on adolescents and university students.

Those involved face drug trafficking charges and could be prosecuted under Cuba's current legal framework, which imposes severe penalties for such crimes.
