Sunday, April 20, 2025 by Richard Morales

Cuban singer Musteerifa has stirred up excitement on social media by teasing her upcoming musical project: a "repartera" version of the classic song “Bonito y Sabroso” by the legendary Benny Moré. Known for her distinctive urban style and powerful vocal delivery, Musteerifa pays tribute to the “Bárbaro del Ritmo” with a bold fusion that is sure to spark conversation.

"My respects to El Benny," Musteerifa declares at the beginning of the track, emphasizing that her rendition is not intended to offend the original but to reinterpret it through her unique musical lens, staying true to her artistic identity. Although an official release date has yet to be announced, the artist shared a video on her social media platforms featuring a snippet of the song playing in the background.

In the preview, the iconic chorus that Benny Moré immortalized remains intact. Musteerifa sings, "And as El Benny said, how beautiful and delightful the Mexican women dance the mambo, moving their waists and shoulders just like the Cuban women."

This innovative approach has been well-received by notable figures in the current Cuban music scene. Trumpeter Alexander Abreu expressed his support for the young rising star of the urban genre, and the Orquesta Failde has praised Musteerifa's initiative with this Benny Moré track. This new project solidifies Musteerifa as one of the most versatile emerging voices within the Cuban urban scene, adept at navigating different genres without losing authenticity or her commitment to the island's musical heritage.
