Two Alligators Caught Trying to Enter Florida Home in Bizarre Incident

Sunday, April 20, 2025 by Henry Cruz

In a bizarre yet typical Florida occurrence, two alligators were caught on video attempting to make their way into a house during the night of April 11. The unusual scene unfolded in Ave Maria, a town located in Collier County, as reported by Matt Devitt, a journalist with Wink News, on social media.

"Welcome to Florida... where you might just find alligators casually climbing up to your front door," joked Devitt as he shared the now-viral video on Instagram. Captured by a Ring camera, the footage shows two reptiles, one appearing quite relaxed as if waiting for something to happen, while the other was determined to enter the home.

The incident, simultaneously frightening and humorous, has sparked a wave of witty comments across various forums where it has been shared. Many have humorously likened the alligators to "Jehovah's Witnesses," eager to enter and spread their message at any cost.

Comments such as "Do you have a minute to hear the word of our lord Cococristo?" and "Hello, we are the alligator witnesses. Would you like to hear about the promised swamp?" have been among the most popular. Others joked, "Hey neighbor, we came to invite you to the party," or "Isn't this where the barbecue was?"

Some people have also drawn parallels between Florida and Jurassic Park, saying, "That's why some people call Florida Jurassic Park," and "The mother-in-law arrived without warning," reflecting the surreal nature of the event.

However, alongside the humor, there's been concern about what might have happened had a child or elderly person opened the door at that moment. Alarmed users commented, "Oh my God, I'm staying in Texas," and "I'm terrified by the size of those lizards," while others added, "Good thing they don't have a dog, and if they did, it's history now," and "If this were 90 miles away in Cuba, not one would be left."
