Saturday, April 19, 2025 by Sofia Valdez

Lilian Rebecca Goodman, a 27-year-old resident of Miami, is facing formal charges on six criminal counts, including armed robbery, following a violent episode at her ex-boyfriend's apartment. The incident, which took place on April 1st, has drawn attention due to the brutality of the attack and the substantial amount of personal belongings stolen, totaling thousands of dollars.

Authorities disclosed that the event unfolded when the victim briefly left his apartment, leaving the door unlocked. During his absence, Goodman entered the premises without permission. A confrontation with her ex-boyfriend quickly escalated into violence. Despite their brief two-month relationship, Goodman demanded $2,000, claiming she needed it for rent. Her ex-boyfriend's refusal to comply led to a series of threats.

The victim, as reported by America Tevé, quoted Goodman saying, "You don't know what I can do to you."

Escalation to Physical Assault and Property Destruction

The situation became even more perilous when Goodman was joined inside the apartment by an unidentified male accomplice. According to Mike Vega, spokesperson for the Miami Police Department, the duo acted with calculated aggression.

"She continued to threaten him, and then a man who was with her entered the apartment, snatched the victim's phone, and began to kick him. While he was on the floor, she grabbed a bat and started smashing items in the apartment. The man and woman then entered the bedroom, taking electronics valued at over $4,000," Vega elaborated.

The destruction included various personal items, but the primary target was high-value electronics. The level of violence exhibited by the pair suggested a clear intent to intimidate and inflict harm.

Desperate Escape and Serious Medical Consequences

In a frantic bid for help, the victim managed to flee the apartment during the assault. However, as he hurried down the building's stairs, he fell and severely injured his ankle. Despite the pain, he succeeded in reaching the lower level to call for help.

"Even with the injury, he managed to descend 10 floors to ask for police assistance. He was transported to the hospital, where surgery was required due to serious injuries," explained the police spokesperson.

The victim underwent surgery, receiving two screws in his right foot. Medical reports indicate that he will be unable to walk for at least three months, followed by a six-month rehabilitation period.

Legal Proceedings for Those Involved

Lilian Rebecca Goodman was apprehended after being identified as the main perpetrator of the assault. During her court appearance on Thursday, Judge Mindy S. Glazer denied her bail and issued a no-contact order with the victim as a preventive measure. Meanwhile, the male accomplice has not been arrested, although his involvement remains under investigation.
