An urgent plea for help has been issued by Cuban influencer Alain Papparazzi on social media for Lester Lafita, a young Cuban battling cancer in Miami who will soon be discharged from the hospital without a place to stay.

Lester's journey began over a year ago when he was forced to leave Cuba after the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) denied him medical treatment. Now, in Miami, he faces a new challenge, unable to work to earn money due to his health condition, while Miami's rental prices remain exorbitantly high, as noted by Papparazzi.

Currently, Lester is hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital due to an infection that required replacing the tubes connected to his kidneys. He is scheduled to begin his first chemotherapy cycle on April 26. However, he lacks a secure and stable home for recovery after his discharge, according to Papparazzi.

For now, Lester has relied on the kindness of friends and the Cuban exile community. Unfortunately, this support network is wearing thin. He and his mother have sought shelter in various places, but shelter rules prevent them from staying together. "Some nights they find refuge with friends, other times they are forced to sleep on the streets," the influencer shared.

Lester's mother, who also struggles with mental health issues, needs to be at her son's side during his recovery process. Social media platforms are being used to urgently seek assistance in finding an affordable room or space where Lester and his mother can stay together while he continues his treatment.

Those wishing to assist can contact Lester directly via Messenger or contribute through PayPal at Lester.lafita1993@gmail.com or CashApp at $1234lester.

This situation is reminiscent of the plight faced by Cuban journalist Héctor González in 2023, who also arrived in Florida with severe health issues and was supported by the local immigrant community.
