Puerto Rican singer Arcángel recently disclosed that he underwent open heart surgery, describing it as the toughest challenge life has thrown his way. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the reggaeton star shared striking photos from his hospital bed, revealing a significant chest scar and post-surgery drains. "I'm enduring and simultaneously overcoming the greatest test that God and life have given me," he penned on Tuesday, pairing his words with a spiritual reflection expressing gratitude for a new lease on life. "I have a sick and battered heart that, despite everything, refuses to stop beating."

The artist, whose real name is Austin Agustín Santos, later clarified in his stories that he is no longer hospitalized, as the surgery took place a month ago and he was discharged two weeks back. He emphasized that he is in recovery, did not suffer another heart attack, and that the procedure was a medical decision aimed at definitively resolving his heart issues. "Thanks to God, I'm healing very quickly. I'm in pain, but I feel better than before," he stated.

Arcángel revealed that doctors have already given him the green light to return to the stage, provided he avoids any abrupt movements. "After that, all is good. I feel brand new. Now, it's just about maintaining much more discipline," he asserted.

Despite being in recovery, the artist managed to complete a new album, which he wrote and recorded during this period. "There is no physical pain that surpasses the sadness my soul will bear for the rest of my life," he wrote, alluding to the losses and challenges he has faced in recent years.

The singer is set to resume his schedule with a performance on April 19 in Guatemala, followed by the Portobello Fest in La Perla, Puerto Rico, a special celebration on his "island of enchantment," where he intends to show his fans that he is "stronger than ever."

His announcement spurred a flood of encouraging messages from fellow urban genre artists. Bizarrap, Rauw Alejandro, Wisin, Lenny Tavárez, Farina, Ricky Martin, Servando Primera, and De La Ghetto, among others, expressed their support, highlighting the strength, faith, and resilience of the "Hace mucho tiempo" performer. Much strength to him!
