A passenger who vandalized a bus on the P9 route was apprehended by authorities in Central Havana. The incident, reported by pro-regime source Javier Gutiérrez on Facebook, took place on April 12 at the intersection of San Lázaro and Márquez González in the Cayo Hueso neighborhood. It began when a passenger attempting to board the bus headed to La Palma had an altercation with the vehicle's assistant driver.

During the argument, the individual damaged the front door of the bus and fled the scene, according to the official account. The driver promptly reported the incident to the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), which led to an immediate investigation. A few days later, on Tuesday morning, authorities detained the alleged perpetrator at 7:30 a.m. at the corner of Zanja and Belascoaín in Central Havana.

The suspect, who lives in Arroyo Naranjo, was taken into custody to face charges of property damage, as per the report. The pro-government publication enthusiastically announced the arrest, labeling the suspect as a "bandit" and praising the supposed efficiency of the "Sector Chief," while failing to provide details about the judicial process or the conflict's background.

This incident highlights the social tensions present in Cuba's public transportation system, which suffers from deteriorating services, a shortage of vehicles, delays, and overcrowding. The confrontation erupted on a Saturday afternoon on a P9 route bus in Havana, resulting in the shattering of the bus's windows.

According to Transportación Habana's Facebook page, the event occurred at 3:15 p.m. near Parque Maceo. During a brawl on board, a man broke the front glass with a metal pipe and then fled. Authorities pointed out that this act of vandalism not only caused material damage to the bus but also disrupted service for passengers who rely on public transport. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the clash.

"We need your support to combat these social indisciplines and protect our public transport. Together, we can make a difference!" Transportación Habana stated.
