This Friday morning, a significant accident occurred on the Moa–Sagua highway in Holguín province, resulting in injuries to seven individuals, including two minors and a pregnant woman. The incident took place on the infamous Los Calderos hill, allegedly due to mechanical failures in the truck involved, leading the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The injured were transported to the Dr. Guillermo Luis Fernández General Teaching Hospital in Moa around 8:30 a.m. and received prompt medical care, according to local authorities on social media. Dr. Manuel Galbán, the hospital director, informed the press that there have been no fatalities or critical injuries reported.

Some of the patients sustained minor injuries, such as a 14-year-old girl with a head injury and a fractured humerus, and a two-year-old boy with bruises. Other victims, including a woman 27 weeks pregnant, were being treated in the municipality of Sagua de Tánamo.
