The popular Cuban television show Vivir del Cuento has lost another beloved character as Wilber Gutiérrez, who portrays Chacón, has left Cuba with his family. This development was reported by the independent outlet CubaNet, citing information from a producer of the comedy series and a close friend of Gutiérrez.
"Chacón embarked on a journey. In fact, several members of the show only learned of his departure after he had already left," the source revealed to the media outlet. While it is confirmed that Chacón has reached Mexico, the current whereabouts of the actor from Santiago de Cuba remain unknown.
This departure marks a significant setback for Cuba's most popular comedy program. Chacón, the wealthy neighbor with entrepreneurial ventures and ongoing clashes with Pánfilo, ranks among the most cherished figures in the show.
Challenges and Changes in Cuban Television
Vivir del Cuento has previously experienced the exit of crucial characters such as Andy Vázquez (Facundo Correcto), Omar Franco (Ruperto), and Irela Bravo (Chachita). Additionally, Marlon Pijuán, who plays Isidoro, is also outside Cuba, although it remains uncertain if his absence is permanent.
In October, Luis Silva, the actor behind Pánfilo, shared a concerning message on Instagram, hinting that the show might be the latest target of censorship in Cuba. This message raised alarm among fans of the beloved comedy series.
