The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) has apprehended three Cuban nationals for selling stolen appliances from newly constructed homes in counties along Florida's west coast.

Authorities identified the suspects as Alberto Gómez Sardiñas, 32, José Hernández O'Relly, 36, and Yansiel Consuegra, 24. According to HCSO, the trio obtained stolen items from construction sites and resold them for profit.

Details of the Stolen Goods and Arrest Locations

Police reports indicate over $100,000 worth of stolen goods were recovered from homes under construction in the Tampa Bay area, specifically in Hillsborough, Marion, Hernando, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. Local media outlets reported that the stolen items were sold from a residence at 819 S. Kings Ave., Brandon, and a storage facility at 6207 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa.

Investigators also revealed that Gómez had been listing the stolen items for sale online. Additionally, Hernández's 2022 Dodge 2500 Big Horn truck had been re-vinned and was an unreported stolen vehicle.

Gómez faces charges for dealing in stolen property, as well as two additional counts for the illegal use of two-way communication devices and internet-based trafficking in stolen property. Hernández is charged with dealing in stolen property and third-degree grand theft, while Consuegra is facing charges for dealing in stolen property.

Further charges may be forthcoming, according to the police.

"I am incredibly proud of our detectives for meticulously following every lead in this case, which has led to the arrest and recovery of stolen goods valued at over $100,000," said Sheriff Chad Chronister.

The officer warned, "We will not tolerate individuals committing crimes for personal gain through illegal activities. Rest assured, they will be held accountable for their actions."

Local media reported that the police investigation remains active to determine who supplied the stolen appliances to the three suspects.
