Alexander Abreu and Paulito FG Kneel in Mutual Respect During Concert in Cuba

Tuesday, May 14, 2024 by Robert Castillo

Cuban musicians Alexander Abreu and Paulito FG, two of the most prominent figures in the island's music scene, have shown a mutual display of respect that will be remembered forever.

This touching moment occurred during a concert by "El Sofocador de la Salsa" at the Salón Rojo del Capri. Alexander Abreu was one of the evening's guest artists, and while they were both on stage, the trumpeter knelt before Paulito FG in front of the audience. Seeing Alexander Abreu on the ground, the salsa singer reciprocated the gesture, and the two ended up kneeling on the floor facing each other, embracing tightly.

The special moment was shared by both on their Instagram profiles in a video. "That's how it is, respect to the elder," the trumpeter commented in the post, while Paulito FG added in reference to Alexander Abreu: "My favorite heavyweight. The toughest tank of timba. I love you, Ale."

Despite having his own orchestra, Havana D' Primera, since 2008, the trumpeter previously worked with several important Cuban salsa orchestras, including Paulito FG y su Élite.
