The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (CIDH) yesterday expressed in a statement its "concern" for the new Cuban Constitution, approved in a referendum on February 24, and for its implementation.
The Commission stresses that although the new Magna Carta "gave constitutional status to certain fundamental rights", that body has received complaints from several organizations of Cuban civil society, "about a series of shortcomings in the process of socialization and debate in around the draft Constitution. "
