The University of Havana ranks 83rd among the best 300 institutions in Latin America
The University of Havana is the only institution of Cuban higher education system included in the top 100 list in Latin America according to the QS University Rankings for the region that is published for the fifth consecutive year. The Universidad de Oriente in Santiago de Cuba appears 141st, coming in the first half of the table that evaluates 300 centers of the continent.
Despite its slightly prominent positions, both universities improve their positions over the previous year. The first one moves from number 91st in 2014 to 83rd in 2015, while the second one sharply climbs from the 171-180 range to the current 141st. The two other Cuban universities, Carlos Rafael Rodriguez from Cienfuegos and Jose Antonio Echeverria (CUJAE) appear at the very end of the list, between positions 250 and 300.
