The Association of Entertainment Critics of New York (ACE) presented its annual film awards, including the Cuban actresses Alina Rodrigues and Silvia Aguila, both for the film Conducta.
Alina Rodriguez was named best actress, while Silvia Águila was awarded as the best female co-acting. Mexican Luis Gerardo Méndez won the award for best male co-acting for the film Cantinflas, the film also won the award for best movie and its star, Spanish actor Oscar Jaenada, took the best actor.
Were also awarded the director Diego Quemada-Diez held by Tape golden cage and Dominican Juan Basanta his debut Biodegradable.
The documentary about the history of Spanish immigration in Manhattan Little Spain will also be recognized at the awards ceremony on March 30. The gala will be dedicated to Puerto Rican actor and composer Johnny Huertas and the first Peruvian actress Teresa Yenque.
In parallel special recognition be given to figures such as Gerardo Gudino, Rosita Fornes and Rosa Gloria Chagoyán.
The ACE Awards, which also recognize the best in theater and television production, will be presented at the Kaufman Center in Manhattan.
The Association of Entertainment Critics of New York is a journalistic institution of Hispanic arts sector created in the US in 1967.
