Two earthquakes were reported in Guantánamo

Two earthquakes of magnitude 4 and 3.7 degrees on the Richter scale were felt this Sunday in the town Imías in the province of Guantánamo, without causing casualties or damage, according to the National Network Stations Seismological Service.
The first of the earthquakes (Richter 4 degrees) was recorded at 1:25 am (local time) and was located 33 kilometers southeast of Imías.
The second quake (3.7 degrees) occurred at 8:50 am, 44 kilometers southeast of Imías. Both were perceptible to the inhabitants of the town.
Since January 1 there have been at least 18 earthquakes of low intensity in Cuba. In 2013 the island occurred in 14 noticeable quakes, a normal average 20 to 50 tremors of medium and moderate intensity, according to official figures tend to occur every year.
