The XXIV International Ballet Festival of Havana will give the opportunity to witness, first in Cuba, the performances of the Hispanic Ballet of New York. Companies from the United States, France, Switzerland, Argentina and the island itself will also participate.
The event will be held from October 28 to November 7; on November 1 and 2 will be the performances that have prepared the Hispanic Ballet of New York for the Cuban public, to be held in the Mella Theater.
The company will offer scenes from the musical and dance culture, all premiere in the country. The four pieces selected are: Sortijas, Cayetano Soto; El beso, Gustavo Ramirez; Sombrerísimo, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and "Asuka" by Eduardo Vilaro. The last one is in tribute to the Cuban salsa queen, Celia Cruz.
Hispanic Ballet of New York has a repertoire of over one hundred works. This group promotes links between global Hispanic diaspora, for the conservation of cultural roots and dialogue between different communities.
