For second time was celebrated the week "AfricAméricas II: We are the root of change" with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as the headquarters city. The event was attended by artists living in the island and in the United States.

The inauguration was held on Sept. 16 at Gallery 720 Records, with the participation of Escuadrón Patriota and David D. This gallery is one of the contributors to the event organized by the Platform for Racial Integration, supported by City of Asylum, Carnegie Mellon University, La Roche College, and others.

In this second edition the event featured exhibitions, films, concerts and debates, which lasted until September 20th. This year's theme was the situation of marginalized people on the island, particularly those of African descent, and children. All activities were free and open to the public.
