Among the trips in June and March 11 will be taking place in Havana Drum Festival XI Festival 2012 Guillermo Barreto in Memoriam, which will be dedicated to the beloved Gregorio Hernandez, El Goyo.

Common places are maintained as the Teatro Mella, the Hotel Occidental Miramar, the Gardens of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, the Salon Rosado de la Tropical Rumba Palace, home of the contest, among others.
This fun seeks to promote and encourage the development of Cuban percussion, details of which are present in all genres of music played on the Island
Since its inception recognized the life and work of very important figures of that art, like Chano Pozo, Tata Guines, Ricardo "Papin" Abreu and Miguel Anga, among many others already disappeared.
