By: Dayami Interián García. jHuancayo, Peru, Sep 8 (Prensa Latina) The governor of the Peruvian central Andean region of Junin, Vladimir Cerron, on Thursday implemented the Family Doctor Program, taking as example Cuba's similar experience.

Cerron put the first stone of the first eight family doctor's offices that will be built in different parts of Huancayo, the regional capital.

The regional government will equip the premises, including the doctor's office and house. The works are expected to be finished in 180 days, he said.

Peruvian doctors graduated in Cuba, and thus deeply acquainted with the program, will provide 24-hour attention to locals.

After inaugurating the works, Cerron and Cuban Chargé d'affaires in Peru Pavel Diaz attended a mass gathering in which bilateral solidarity and cooperation ties were stressed.

Meanwhile, Cerron thanked the Cuban contribution and international solidarity, particularly in health, reminded of his graduation in Cuba as doctor, and praised the work of his professors.
