Members of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) will meet Thursday and Friday in 12 permanent commissions to prepare the agenda for the 7th ordinary session, Granma newspaper reported Wednesday.

The National Assembly members will hear reports from government ministers before going into session on Aug. 1.

Dozens of issues related to the economic and social changes underway and of great interest to the people are on the agenda.

The Agro-Alimentary Commission will discuss and vote on a performance report to be presented to the National Commission plenum.

The Tax Administration and the decisions of the 6th Congress of the Communist Party; self-employment and taxes; the situation and prospects for foreign investment, and credit policy will be discussed by the Economic Affairs Committee.

The Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee will review reports on the implementation of laws on the General Comptroller's Office, the National System of Museums and Social Security, and the implementation of decree-laws passed during the last period.

The National Defense committee will discuss the situation of food production by the systems of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Interior Ministry.

An analysis of compliance with the economic plan, investment, spending by sector and projections to the end of the year will be common points in all of the meetings.
