CHESHIRE, ENGLAND, July 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The whole concept of this new 10-day tour centres on really getting under the skin of Cuba's unique history, culture, politics and people. So, we've by-passed the tourist coastal resorts, instead choosing to spend time in the back streets of Old Havana, in the tropical forests of Soroa, in the coffee and tobacco plantations at Vinales, and relaxing on the white coral sands at sugarcane capital, Trinidad.

The towns and cities we visit are hugely colourful and atmospheric, with tiny squares alive with impromptu musicians, dancers and artists, all blissfully unaware that they are being watched. Majestic colonial buildings face crumbling family houses; open rickshaws tout for taxi fares alongside pink 1950's Cadillacs, and there are often more donkeys than cars on the roads! It's a fabulously contrasting and captivating mix!

Heading inland, you'll pass wealthy terraces of coffee, sugar, palms and papaya. We'll stop off for refreshment at family farms and traditional tobacco drying sheds. The walks are varied but not too challenging, taking in jungle trails, river valleys, waterfalls and rock pools. There are some amazing bird and plant life - red ginger, mango, wild orchids and the pretty tocororo, Cuba's national bird. Back on the coast, at Trinidad, you'll be rewarded with the most spectacular ocean views.

Our native Cuban leader will accompany you throughout the trip, at times enlisting the help of local people where he feels they have a story to tell! For 2012, we are only currently planning to run five departures, so places are very limited. If you are interested, then early booking is strongly advised.
