Escrito por Estela McCollin.Jueves, 23 de diciembre de 2010. Havana, Dec 23 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's multinational delegation

to the 17th World Festival of Students and Youth in South Africa was welcomed home early Thursday.

The welcome party was led by Culture Minister Abel Prieto, also a member of the Communist Party Central Committee Political Bureau, and other government, union and student organization officials.

This 17th festival, held for the first time in Africa, hosted 15,000 delegates from 126 countries Dec. 13-21.

The festival was dedicated to South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela and the historic leader of the cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

Fidel's message to the younger generations was read at the opening ceremony.

The Anti-Imperialist Tribunal held as part of the festival at the Tshwane Convention Center in Pretoria found imperialism guilty of multiple crimes and atrocities against humanity: war and aggressions of all sorts, torture, death, coups, unilateral sanctions like blockades and the exploitation of workers.

Socorro Perez, president of the World Peace Council, said the ruling was symbolic, and the court's true goal was to raise awareness and participants' commitment to exposing the policies of capitalism and to fight and defeat imperialism.hr/rab/emw/ro.
