Suarez Gayol was a memeber of the guerrilla column that was led by Che Guevara

The Government of Cuba issued a request to the fellow leftist regime of Bolivia, to search for the remains of fallen guerrilla, Jose Suarez Gayol known as “El Rubio”, the only Cuban that after 40 years, has continued to be unaccounted for, from Ernesto “Che” Guevara´s commando

A government report from web page www.cubadebate.cu stated that coroner Jorge Gonzalez (who discovered the bones of Guevara and several of his comrades, back in July of 1997) expects to come out successful in this task.

According to the physician, past research shows that the remains may be found where the rivers Tacuarali and Ñacahuasú converge.

During past excavations of the area, the body of Ernesto Guevara and 6 other guerrilla members where found.

Suarez Gayol, was born in Manatí, Cuba in 1936 and died on April 10th 1967. He took part in the column led by Guevara in to Bolivia, where he later lost his life.
