Leal Spengler explained in the recently closed International FECONS 2010 Fair that those actions represent the political will and the sincere and intimate desire of the Cuban people to preserve its built heritage and what it contains.
In the event that took place in the Palace of Conventions in Havana, he pointed out that in towns like Guanabacoa, Regla, Caibarién and Sagua, there are works and architectural sets that remain thanks to the conservation work.
The Historian of the City stressed that the work should not be centered on tourism, but directed to help the needs of the community, to facilitate new jobs, to diminish the risks that may be faced by old and disabled people, and defend gender right.
