Gente Nueva Publishing House, of the Cuban Book Institute, sponsors the exhibition by the Cuban plastic arts artists, inspired on narrations and traditions of Russia, guest of honor country at the 2010 event.
Book “Cuentos populares rusos” (Popular Russian Stories), by writer Aleksandr Nikolayevich Afanasiev (1826-1871), prepared by the said Cuban publisher, has inspired a number of outstanding creators from Nueva Gente creative group, made up by several illustrators and plastic arts artists.
A plural look and diverse styles feature the participation of such creators as Abenamar Bauta, Aida Isabel Serantes, Annelis M. Noriega, Ceddy Valdivia, Bladimir Gonzalez Linares, Duchy Man, Eira Arrate, Estela Estevez Dieppa, Irela Hernandez Gala, Javier Dueñas, Jorge Luis Gonzalez Yuque, Jose Antonio Medina, Joseph Rosado Polanco, Julio Mompeller, Maria Margarita Rodriguez, Marla Albo Quintana, Nara Miranda, Nelson Ponce, Pablo Montes de Oca, Rafael Morante Boyerizo, Roilan Marrero, Roldan Lauzan and Yailin Perez Zamora, who from their individual views recreated the world of fantasy, of myths and of popular millenary traditions that compose the cultural imaginary of the Russian literature.
