The book La Habana de Hemingway y Campoamor, by the Cuban writer Osmar Mariño Rodríguez will be launched next Monday 25, at five o’clock in the afternoon in the Cartuja Salon from the Seville Hotel, in Havana.

Published by Ediciones Extramuros, the book collects in its pages the passing of two famous lives such as that of the US writer Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) and the Cuban journalist Fernando G. Campoamor (1914-2001).

The work by Mariño is filled with experiences and anecdotes from both of them, who coincided in time, in a city of Havana that joined them in the literary and cultural Cuban memory.

The author recognizes that his purpose was headed towards saving the memory of Campoamor, who he had the chance to meet personally and who inspired him to write about Hemingway.

Mariño deals in his work with unprecedented themes, such as the handing over of the Literature Nobel Prize medal won by Hemingway to Campoamor, an event that has been very poorly dealt with by the Cuban writers.

This edition includes the introductory notes by the late National Journalism Award Juan Emilio Friguls and by the journalist Viñas Alfonso, who are acknowledged by the author, together with the late writer Lisandro Otero, as his main inspirations.
