Global Alert for A-H1N1 Influenza. Cuba free of infection.

The World Health Organization says the number of people infected with the Influenza A-H1N1 virus rose to 985 in 20 countries.
Mexico remains the hardest hit with 590 cases, including 25 deaths, followed by the United States (226 cases and one death).
The virus has emerged in Austria, Canada, Costa Rica, Colombia, Denmark, El Salvador, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Holland, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Great Britain.
WHO Director Margaret Chan says that raising the alert level from five to a maximum of six is warning health authorities to take due action, enhance vigilance and adopt protective measures.
