Cuba Music Fair to Hail Puerto Rico

Rivera added that Cubadisco will contribute to bond more the historic roots between both nations for more than two centuries.
Among the Puerto Rican musicians proposed for the Cubadisco 2009 International Award are Danny Rivera, with his DVD Sinfonico Live; Edwin Colon Zayas, with his record Reafirmacion; el Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, with Arroz con Habichuela and the John Santos Quintet and friends, with Perspectiva Fragmentada.
Also appearing are Andy Montanez with his CD El Godfather de la Salsa; and Jose Antonio Lopez, with Obra Integral, Leonardo Egurbida.
The meeting will pay homage to Rafael Hernandez (1892-1965), an important personality of Puerto Rico during the 20th century and Catalino Curet Alonso (1926-2003) more known as Tite Curet Alonso, one of the most popular salsa composers in the United States.
Others present in the music fair are Pedro Flores (1894-1979), a famous bolero musician, Felix Manuel Rodriguez Capo (1922-1989), composer of the famous Piel Canela and Daniel Santos (1916-1992), one of the most internationally important singers from this nation.
