Cuban Deputy Minister of the Science, Technology and
Environment America Santos and president of the Chilean National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research Vivian Heyl signed agreements in that area.
Both agreements will facilitate the exchange between experts through seminars and similar events, technology transfers and the training of human resources. It will also allow mutual technical assistance and the realization of joint projects for research and development.
Previously, the Chilean president learned a few aspects of CIREN's activities, which is a medical-scientific institution that includes an area for the development of basic research programs.
The center has created technology for neuro-rehabilitation
treatment. The six clinics at the center include leading therapeutic actions that are designed specifically to meet the needs of each patient.
Accompanying Bachelet at the ceremony were Cuban Health Minister Jose Ramon Balaguer, among other Cuban top government officials.
