This time, the artist, who has six CDs, will present a new record production.
He was nominated to the 2003 Grammy Awards in the category "Best Salsa Album of the Year" and has won several CUBADISCO and EGREM awards in Cuba. The Cuban flute player is considered by specialists as a living show when he directs his 12 musicians.
Maraca is appreciated for shining in every aspect of the Afro Cuban and Latin music. From the salsa to the Latin – jazz, his music is a mixture of energies and fusions that go from the jazz improvisations to the most danceable elements of the popular music.
The national tour of Maraca will then move to Bayamo and Manzanillo, then to Holguin, Las Tunas and Camaguey. After the Camaguey presentation the musicians and his group will take part in the Jazz Plaza International Festival, organized by maestro Chucho Valdes.
His tour will start again the 17 of February in Ciego de Avila and will follow in Sancti Spíritus, Santa Clara, Cienfuegos, Matanzas, Cárdenas and Pinar del Río. Every presentation will be in the main squares of trhe cities.
The tour will end the 17 of March with a great concert at the Astral theatre in the capital.
