Aleida Guevara, Che’s daughter, said that the book is filled with tenderness, which Che believed should characterize all human beings.
“It challenges us to try hard to make our dreams come true and continue moving forward toward further improving our society through the active participation of each and everyone of us,” said Aleida and praised the book, which she said was an old dream come true.
The brilliant book cover design was by graphic design students. It contains a collage and numerous family pictures, short stories, a collection of letters and fragments of Che’s speeches, along with some literary works Che read as a young man.
“It took us many days, actually months to select the materials for the book, since Che did not write especially for children or young people. This is why most of the documents were unpublished,” said some of the compilers.
Che’s letters to his children at the end of the book stand out for their beauty, while his farewell letter to Fidel Castro closes the volume.
