During his tour of areas affected by the storm, Machado Ventura was accompanied by Julio César García, President of the Provincial Defense Council in Camagüey.

According to a report by Cuban television, the sea penetrated Santa Cruz del Sur for more than a kilometer and a half, with waves of up to
three meters high (about ten feet).

The Provincial Defense Council is leading efforts to survey the damage done by Hurricane Paloma in the province of Camagüey.
