Parallel to this event is the First Scientific Campaign on Economic Regulation and Evaluation of Health Technologies, and the 8th International Symposium on Health Management.
Organized by the Cuban Society of Health Economy, the forum is sponsored by over 10 organizations, national and other entities from Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, as well as the Pan-American Health Organization.
The agenda of the congress includes several oral and written papers, a group of lectures on planning, financing and decision-making and economic efficiency.
Personnel formation and training, economic regulation, and evaluation of health technologies are also among the issues to debate.
Economy and Planning Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez, Deputy Foreign Minister Yilian Jimenez, and Roberto Verrier, president of the Cuban National Association of Economists, are expected to take the floor on Friday.
