Other aspects that will be examined at this Tenth International Congress on Sugar and its derivatives (Diver-2008) are: sugar cane sector and rum in Guadalupe Island and variety of that cane in Cuba, among others.
There will be an exhibition on ethanol production in Brazil and its technological evolution and about alcohol factories, corrosion and maintenance as part of an alcohol workshop in the forum.
The executive director of International Organization of Sugar (IOS) Peter Baron will speak about the main aspects of the world sugar economy.
The Congress that will be held from October 14 to 17 at the Havana Hotel Nacional includes a wide range of agro-industry techniques.
The president of the Organizing Committee and Director of the Cuban Research Institute of the Sugar Cane derivatives (ICIDCA) reported that most of the foreign delegates came from Latin America and the Caribbean.
This bienniel event is co-sponsored by Venezuela Agriculture and PDVSA for the first time.
