On Saturday the public of Las Tunas could appreciate the monologues in competition Santa Juana de America, by Tania Rondon, based on the homonymous work by the Argentinean writer Andres Lizarraga, directed by Anay Ray Haynes, and the play Toto de los espiritus (Toto of the Spirits), by Carlos Jesus Diaz, from Holguin, and that will be performed by Luis Andres Till, under the direction of Elizabeth Borrego.
As closing to the homage to the Grupo Teatral Huellas and to the Competition Blanca Becerra, the dramatic group of Las Tunas restores on Sunday the play Las pericas (The Parrots), by the Cuban playwright Nicolas Door, directed by Dionne Perez.
This theater stage is framed in the celebrations for the Cuban Culture that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Victory of the Revolution, 60th of the National Ballet, the four centuries of the Literature and the 155 birthday of the Cuba's National Hero, Jose Marti.
The Cuban Culture, that is annually celebrated from October 10th to 20th, was instituted by the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers on August 22nd, 1980, and the October 20th was established as the Day of Culture in Cuba.
