Germany, which is the island's fifth top tourist market, will be the Guest of Honor at Cuba's main tourist event to be held in Havana in 2009.

The Cuban delegation, made up of executives of several hotel chains and Cuban tour operators, is led by Maria Elena Lopez, Deputy Minister of Tourism.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry website, the fair was also attended by a representation of the Cuban Embassy in Germany.

As part of activities to promote the Cuban fair, the famous Tropicana dance show is touring top German cities, including Hamburg, Stuttgart and Hannover.
