The Cuban couple, which has been already made their debut on Japanese stages in 2006 with a very favorable reception of the critic and the public, will take turns with worldwide famous artists like Danil Simkin, Dorothée Gilbert, Alessio Carbone and Yuku Tanaka, among others.
The performances of Viengsay Valdés and Rómel Frómeta are expected to be on August nine in the Sumport Theater in Takamatsu, and on August 12 in the Youport Theater in Tokyo, with Don Quixote’s pas de deux, choreography by Alicia Alonso, based on the original by Marius Petipa and Anatole Obukov’s version.
They will be also performing Diana and Acteon, also created by the Cuban prima ballerina assoluta based on the original by A. Vaganova, music by Riccardo Drigo and costumes by Salvador Fernández.
The presence of the Cubans in the Gala of the World Festival in Japan again, shows once more the international acknowledgement of the Cuban School of Ballet and Alicia Alonso in particular.
