Cuba’s triple jump athlete Yargelis Savigne won a gold medal in an athletic meeting in Moscow on Wednesday with a 14.81 leap, her season’s best.

This is Savigne´s third straight victory in the Triple Jump since her gold medal-winning performance at the 2008 World Indoor Championships in Spain.

The 23-year-old Cuban stayed just shy of Slovenian Maria Sestak's world-leading 14.85m. Ukraine's Olha Saladuha was second with 14.76m, and Slovakia’s Marija Sestak a distant third (14.50m).

Previously, Savigne leaped 14.77m to conquer the gold medal in the recently concluded Primo Nebiolo championship in Turin, Italy.

Fellow team member Anay Tejeda, bronze medallist in 60m hurdles in Spain, finished third with a 12.88 time in the 100m hurdles competition.
