Sponsored by the Havana Cultural Office, the event has a jury, presided over by renowned Singer and Artistic Director Hugo Oslé. Other members of the jury include also prestigious figures like Héctor Téllez, Migdalia Hechavarría, Elizabeth D Gracia, Raquel Hernández, Zenaida Armenteros, Zoa Fernández, Susana Junco, Ridulfo Vaillant and Jorge Núñez (presidents of the Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC) in Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo, respectively).

Paula Villalón (Gran Prix 2007) and poet Sigfredo Ariel will be in charge of presenting the awards, among them the Elena Burque and Fernando Álvarez Special Prizes.

The contest rounds on June 12th and 13th start at 3:00 p.m., open to the public.
