President of Namibia's Parliament, Theo-Ben GurirabIn statements to the press after the ceremony, Gurirab reiterated the support of his people with the Cuban struggles, in particular in favor of the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorists who have been unjustly imprisoned in the US since 1998.
He noted that the Namibian parliament recently passed a motion demanding the immediate release of the five men known as the Cuban Five: Gerardo Hernandez, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Rene Gonzalez and Ramon Labanino.
The Cuban Five were monitoring Miami's hardliners who have organized and conducted terrorist acts against the Cuban people seeking to undermine their Revolution.
Gurirab also highlighted Cuba's support in the decolonization of the so-called Black Continent. He spoke about his friendship with Fidel Castro and wished him continued health.
