Three way tie in 43rd Capablanca Memorial Cuban Chess Tourney
All the players participating in this tournament are enjoying on Sunday a rest day, although most coaches and players are training hard to sharpen up their opening repertoire, tactical game and strategy, among others, to get ready for their fourth round encounters on Monday.

After three rounds on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the tournament is headed in the first place by three players, Arencibia, Dominguez and Khenkin with two points and they are followed close behind by Nogueiras (Cuba), Lazaro Bruzon (Cuba), Sergey Tiviakov (Netherlands) and Amonatov with one and a half points. Wojtaszek (Poland), Yuniezky (Cuba) Quesada and Holden Hernandez are current tailenders with one point each.

Meanwhile, Arencibia completed two points after three rounds, each won game is worth one point, a tie is worth half a point and zero for a loss.

Dominguez also has two points after drawing two games and winning one, and his hardest fought game so far was against Farrukh Amonatov because he was running out of time to complete his 40 moves in two hours, but he managed to reach an equal position on move 36 of a Sicilian defense and both players agreed on a draw.

Dominguez is not only aiming to win this tournament but also wants to reach or surpass the 2,700 ELO rating mark. ELO the rating system used by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) to rate chess players based on the results they obtain against other players.

Another Cuban GM Lazaro Bruzon tied Khenkin in 20 moves of a Queen's Gambit Accepted opening.

The Capablanca tournament is 9-round FIDE category-15, 2,602 rating event being played at Neptuno-Triton Hotel in Havana.
