Eastern Cuba Reafirms Support of the Revolution on May Day
In Las Tunas, more than 100,000 people converged at the General Vicente Garcia square to express their support of the countrys new leadership.

The number of participants doubled up in the city of Holguin with more than 200,000 people dressed in the white, red and/or blue of the Cuban flag with an outpouring of patriotism and support of the achievements of the Revolution.

Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura presided over the May Day festivities in Santiago de Cuba, where, according to local reports, more than 700,000 workers took part in the celebrations throughout the province.

In Guantanamo, locals marked the date by celebrating several recent achievements including the inauguration of a series of public projects, and meeting several important economic goals in productivity and mercantile production.

This years May Day celebrations are dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, the 70th anniversary of the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) and in demand of the release of five Cuban antiterrorist fighters held in US prisons.
