The validity and development septet format for the rendition of the different genres of Cubas popular and traditional music constitutes an undeniable fact of our sociocultural reality, thats why, the main reason of this official announcement is to reflect and show the development of this format.

The current edition of the gathering will render tribute to Ignacio Piñeiro on occasion of his 120th birth anniversary.

All professional groups and individual artists, pertaining to any music and show institution of the country, can take part in this event.

Among the major activities of these cultural days are "Coloquio teórico Ignacio Piñeiro in Memorian" and "Encuentro de Treseros".

The "Ignacio Piñeiro" Provincial Music Center convenes musicians, musicologists, as well as music specialists and researchers for the first event.

The aim is to reflect on the instrumental septet format and popular Cuban music.
