Cuba exhibited its tourist offers at the International Tourist Fair in Argentina, held in early April.
Representatives of the Cuban Tourism Ministry in the Southern Cone pointed out that one of the best acknowledgements was the large number of people who visited the Cuban pavilion and the business deals closed at the fair.
Cuba's tourist sector has reported a 20-percent growth during the first three months of 2008, in addition to increased revenues for the country's flag airline, Cubana de Aviación.
In 2007, 38,000 Argentinean vacationers visited Cuba, and plans for this year exceed that number.
In December 2007, the Argentina branch of Havanatur S.A. won the Gold Bitácora Award in the Best Tour Operator category. The silver award went to Sol y Son, the tour operator run by Cubana de Aviación.
