Cuban play writer Amado del Pino announced will present his play in Spain in 2010 dedicated to Miguel Hernández
The piece, he said, recreates the context and the contradictions lived by two personalities of the written world of the 20th century, the Spanish Miguel Hernández and the Cuban Pablo de la Torriente Brau.

In an interview published in the Granma newspaper, Del Pino said that it occurred to him to sit them together to talk, he imagined an encounter of the two and he recalled with lyric and historic references the years of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).

In the text, he added, there is a change towards poetry, even though there are also my obsessions: anguish, sex and lies.

Considered by his colleague Carlos Celdrán as a cantata with contemporary dramatic writing, Reino dividido was written in Spain after a research with an unpublished material found in the Miguel Hernández Foundation.

Amado del Pinon was recently awarded with the Miguel Hernández Reporters International Award, sponsored by the Foundation under the same name of Orihuela.

The jury, as it explained its decision, highlighted his capacity to transmit a personal and intimate vision of the way of the Spanish poet.

With 48 years, del Pino graduated from Theater and Play Writing from the Instituto Superior de Arte (Higher Art Institute) and he is the author of Tren hacia la dicha (Train towards happiness) and El zapato sucio(The dirty shoe), 2002 Virgilio Piñera play writing award and 2003 Literary Critic award respectively.
